Looking for Clearwater Florida Homes for Sale? Here are Three Things to Know About the Area

If you’re interested in Clearwater Florida homes for sale, then you’ve got great taste. Few places have the same combination of pleasant weather, economic opportunities, and recreational activities. Let’s take a look at each.

Year-Round Sunshine and Warmth

If you’re from an area that’s cold and blustery in the winter, then the idea of February temperatures in the 70s may sound too good to be true. But that’s exactly what you can expect in the Clearwater/Tampa Bay area. The lows rarely fall beneath 50 degrees, and snow is almost unheard of. In the summers the mercury can rise into the mid-90s, occasionally higher. But plenty of rain from June through September and lots of ocean breezes bring frequent relief. Are you a gardener, or just someone who loves fresh flowers and produce? Then imagine picking ripe, juicy tomatoes or strawberries on Christmas Day. Sound nice?

A Bright Economic Future

Like the rest of the country, Clearwater’s economy suffered a setback as a result of the 2008 financial crisis and resulting recession. The community is bouncing back, however, and the future is looking good. Several economic forecasts show the job base as growing by 30% or more in the next decade. High technology, health care, tourism, manufacturing, and professional services figure prominently in the mix of employers. Plus, the growth in the population rate combined with high overall incomes make the area a splendid place to open a business.

Plenty of Things to Do

The Clearwater/Tampa Bay area is home to some of the most spectacular beaches anywhere. Locations like Clearwater Ranch consistently earn rave reviews for the clearness of the water and the whiteness of the sand. Combine them with the many opportunities for inland kayaking, fishing, camping, golfing, and trail-walking and you’ll got an endless list of outdoor activities to keep you fit while having plenty of fun.

There’s also plenty to do indoors. Go shopping in one of the three state-of-the-art malls, or visit the stores at Sand Key or Northwood Plaza. Enjoy a musical, play, or concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall, which is famous for its outstanding acoustics. Tour the Murielle Winery and sample some of their excellent wines. Have a fine meal and catch a performance at the Early Bird Dinner Theater. No matter what your interests are, you’ll find plenty to do and see in and around Clearwater.
